Prince George’s Swimming Pool is a member-owned, home-away-from-home, backyard pool in Mount Rainier, MD.

With a family-oriented and community-based atmosphere, we provide a venue that is accommodating to and supportive of the diverse interests and backgrounds of our members. Specifically, the Pool seeks to provide a welcoming setting for all, regardless of gender, race, creed, orientation and familial status. The Pool also seeks to be a good neighbor and a steward of our environment through the maintenance and development of our facilities. We endeavor to limit bureaucracy and focus on our core amenities by providing a place to swim and relax while seamlessly incorporating as many other associated activities and interests as possible.

PG Pool, as it is universally known, is the perfect setting for a relaxing swim or picnic throughout the summer season. This welcoming, safe and family-friendly environment is located just minutes away from many communities in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties and the District of Columbia, including Brookland, University Park, Hyattsville, Cheverly, Takoma Park, Bladensburg, Riverdale Park, College Park, Capitol Hill, Mount Pleasant, Adams Morgan and many more. Only members and their guests may use PG Pool, which is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

The Killer Whales

Membership on the Killer Whales team is open to current members. Any child up to age 18 (or 19 depending on the birthday) able to swim 25 meters can be on our swim team, which is lowkey, with the emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, improved swimming and having lots of fun. Swim meets take place on Saturday mornings, starting at 8:30am and ending around noon. Practices take place Monday to Thursday evenings with a potluck on Fridays. Every team member who wants to swim in a meet will be entered. We swim in the Prince-Mont Summer Swim League.
